Animal Feed Manufacturers Face Mandatory BIS Standard Mark as Government Notifies Quality Control Order for Three Feed Products
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying) has notified the Animal Feeds and Feed Ingredients (Quality Control) Order, 2026. The Order makes it compulsory for three specified feed products to conform to the corresponding Indian Standards and to bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), with compliance dates phased by enterprise size.
BIS Standard Mark Now Mandatory for Wrought Aluminium Utensils; Aluminium Beverage Cans Follow From April 2027
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has issued the Cookware, Utensils and Cans for Foods and Beverages (Quality Control) Second Order, 2026, notified as S.O. 5624(E) on 13 October 2026 (Gazette No. 5410). It makes BIS certification for aluminium utensils mandatory with immediate effect.
CDSCO: No Separate Export NOC for Approved r-DNA Drugs
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has clarified that a separate Export NOC is not required to export an already-approved r-DNA (recombinant DNA) drug when the only difference is a brand name used exclusively for export. The clarification comes in a notice dated 12 October 2026 and was listed on the CDSCO website on 14 October 2026.

India Introduces Minimum Import Price for PVC Resin Under DGFT Notification 25/2026-27
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced a price-based import restriction on Suspension Grade PVC Resin (S-PVC) under ITC (HS) Code 39041020. Under DGFT Notification No. 25/2026-27 dated 24 July 2026, the import policy for the specified PVC resin has been amended from “Free” to “Restricted”, subject to a CIF-value threshold.
