Under the product certification scheme – I of Schedule – II, BIS grants license to use the standard mark or grants certificate of conformity are addressed in Regulation 4 & 5 and as per schemes given in BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018 . After successful completion of inspection, the samples are drawn by BIS officials and sent to their laboratories for independent testing. After satisfactory test reports are received from the laboratory by BIS, the licence is granted. It usually takes around 2-3 months to complete the process to grant a BIS Licence.
